Check here for the newest studies and articles about two of the most ever-changing topics in birth today: VBAC and Gentle Cesareans! These two types of birth are one of my personal passions. I also highly recommend the organization ICAN and the Website VBACfacts for support and more information! If you can- find your local ICAN Chapter. Building a network of support is critical to success! Here is a link to the Jackson, MS Chapter!: http://www.ican-online.org/jacksonms/

VBAC- Vaginal Birth After Cesarean

Had a prior cesarean birth? Have you always been told "once a cesarean always a cesarean?" Think again! If you would like to attempt a vaginal delivery after a prior C-Section, you may be in luck! Always consult with your healthcare provider to go over all of the surgical notes from your prior delivery. ACOG (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) just released new guidelines in late 2017 regarding VBAC or Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Read more below and feel free to contact me if you have questions about how to rock your VBAC

Gentle Cesarean Section

More information about gentle cesareans and why one might be a great option for your next birth! Cesarean births can be absolutely life-saving for mothers and babies and do not mean you have to give up your entire birth plans! Oftentimes, skin to skin and breastfeeding can be initiated in the OR, delayed cord clamping is still possible, and you can even request a clear drape to see your baby being born! Doulas attend C-Section Births too! Feel free to contact me about how a doula could help with your next cesarean birth! Read more here:
